Actress Cicely Tyson has died at the age of 96 on the 28th January 2021. Cicley was the ex wife of Miles Davies and she starred in some of the most amazing films to date such as Sounder, The help, Diary of a mad black woman, A fall from Grace, How to get away with murder (series).

Tyson won two Emmys for her performance in the 1974 civil rights-era film The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.

Tyson turned down stereotypical roles for black women, agreeing only to play characters that were strong, positive and realistic.

No cause of death is yet to be given.
