Mate... i dont know if I agree with any of it. But hey ho. Some things in regards to equality to make sense to me though if am honest, even today. It should be a thing where there is more unison amongst women beyond race.
But there isnt and before even getting to that women must unify themselves because it seems the pretty ones dont agree with the more butch ones lolz.
@HelterSkelter"But there isnt and before even getting to that women must unify themselves because it seems the pretty ones dont agree with the more butch ones lolz."
Feminist A says women are objectified in the media and show too much skin wearing tight and exposing clothing.
She believes this is wrong and should be changed so that women are viewed in a way that is not just about how they look. Feminist A is not very good looking and tomboyish, talks down to girls who do that.
Feminist B Believes that its her right to wear what she wants and do what she wants when she wants free from judgement. But she feels some men tell her how to dress and how to behave.
She feels women like Feminist A try to berate her and act like shes stupid because shes pretty and likes to wear what she wants. She feels this is not fair and other women like to call her a slut just because of how she dresses.
Do you see the divide there?
Example 2
This video covers other things like race being a problem too. Because according to the video white women dont cater to the feminist needs of none white women. So once again division. There is no unity. But feel free to give your points on mine.
But ok whatever, those are small examples of problems but you have those problems with men is well. Not just women. Many men especially white men tend to form little clubs and not let other men of other races in unless its strategically beneficial to hide their racism and keep their image clean and absolutely do not allow women into those spaces...
To me feminism covers much more than social stigmas, for example in the workplace women are still not respected. We still dont get the same pay as men for doing the same job and less promotions.
In corporate worlds our opinions are not respected and men in these places often think that they can disrespect us and tell jokes amongst themselves like "what sandwich are they building" "go to the kitchen" etc. Alot still has to change. Women have been sacked for refusing to wear high heels at work, tell what does that have to do with their technical ability to work?
In many industries men still dominate even in Fashion where women are still the main customers, yes we are the models and yes there are problems because most of them are white women like myself but the industry is ran by men. The biggest fashion labels are owned and named after men. Calvin Klein, Tommy, Hugo Boss, LVMH, Armani, Sandro, Balmain and YSL. Many others all owned by men, these men chose the models and made the clothes they wanted to wear their clothes in the runways. IT WAS NOT WOMEN, there are problems now and some of us have been stupid enough to fight each other over somethings we did not create. We didnt make this problem men did.
So if there is division with women today then you should look in the mirror for those answers.
I tagged you because you liked the post but didnt say nothing :-)
The points you mentioned were great and accurate.
I do agree with the fact those norms are a problem in terms of not treating women as they should in the workplace and pay being a problem yes.
But I dont agree with you dismissing or diminishing my point as a "small problem" because women get psychologically effected by being judged by other women. This is a major issue. But youre clouding it with oh... but the guys are worse. Its not.
I have seen situations were girls walk into with a dress on and the other girls in the room immediately dislike her and gossip about her.
Everytime a girl loves anything that guys typically like say baseball or something and therefore has alot of male friends, she is perceived as playing up to please the guys etc.
There are many examples...
Yes in Fashion those industries WERE MOSTLY started by men. But women have come along way since then and still cannot form a collective movement that has cohesiveness for ALL women.
Its spread into pretty girls, ugly girls, big girls, small girls, thing girls, white girls, black girls, asian girls ETC and then they have theyre own subgroups... lmao.
These models could start a trade union to be more fair to other women but do they? Nope. Not to any affect anyway.
My point is true because, you got rights for more plus size models now. You could do the same to include everyone else.
If women dont like male dominated companies. Then maybe they should start their own too? At a larger scale. Pointing the finger at men, especially white men wont STOP anything.
@HelterSkelter I dont disagree with some of what you say above to be honest. The rest I do agree with too, there should be more and theres always more that can be done. But its a work in progress, I put it everything your saying down to growing pains.
Should write everything off just on the basis of what you said but rather work it on it. Agree?
